Have a little Compassion…

It has been a while but I would really like to begin giving Fridays back to solely giving compassion (whether it is this group or another). Whether your days be filled with students (like mine), mad dashes to meetings, customers, twittering or just chillaxing, it is so important to take time for others. Whether it be in small momentary ways, or commitments like this. So I pray that you will consider doing some such thing (in the name of our Savior who has shown us so much Compassion).  The children featured on this site have always been waiting 6 months or longer for a sponsor. These are children who have been approved and are in need, but have waited and waited. If you do not have the money to commit, think about making a one time donation to their Children without sponsors fund. You can do so here.

Have a little Compassion…

This is Ranfis. Ranfis is ten and lives with his aunt in the Dominican Republic. He is responsible for making beds, running errands and cleaning. His aunt is employed as a laborer.

Playing with cars, running and playing group games are Ranfis’s favorite activities. In primary school his performance is average and he also regularly attends church activities, Bible class and Vacation Bible School.

Please remember Ranfis in your prayers. Your love and support will help him to receive the assistance he needs to grow and develop. Here is Jhonatan. As soon as I saw him he stuck out because I had a student named Jhonatan from Peru as well, and he was the kind of student who was an inspiration. He was one of my students who came to this country legally, and he worked hard to maintain a job (UPS everyday after school) as well as maintain a legal status by paying for trips home to keep paperwork in order and check on his family. So I imagine this Jhonatan the same way. He is in a family of six, living in poor conditions, and his father is only sometimes employed. He is only a child of five with his entire life in front of him.

Here is little Rose. Again, I am choosing to feature a child from Haiti. They are still suffering effects from the hurricane and I think a little bright spot in one girls life could be knowing she is sponsored, cared about from a far away place. Both of her parents work at a church, but employment in Haiti often means wages that cannot cover the cost of living for a family. Rose’s jobs are gathering firewood, carrying water, and washing clothes.
